Senator Moody Receives Advocacy Award

The Atlanta Alliance on Development Disabilities presented Senator Moody with their Bobby Rowan Advocacy Award at their Annual Heart of Gold Banquet on May 8th. Since he was first elected in 2002, Senator Moody has worked with Dave Blanchard, AADD’s Director of Public Policy, on many of the issues facing members of community with Development Disabilities. Senator Moody was previously named Legislator of the Year by Governor Perdue and the Georgia Republican Party in 2005. In addition, the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children also honored Senator Moody as their Legislator of the Year in 2006. After learning about the award, Senator Moody stated it was an honor to receive the recognition and he will continue to look for ways to help those people in the community who are not always able to help themselves.
